Aaron Gibson - Company Director

Aaron is a graduate of The Arts Educational Schools (ArtsEd), where he earned himself a BA Hons Degree in Professional Musical Theatre. His roots prior to professional accreditation include training at the Shelly Academy of Dance, David Eden Theatre Company and the Allesley School of Dance.

Aaron’s early professional career saw him starring at The Leicester Haymarket Theatre for three Christmas seasons, starting at the age of ten. He first played the role of Oliver Twist in Paul Kerryson’s Oliver! After securing the role, he recalls learning the craft of performance by observing his West End co-stars, Julian Forsyth, Linzi Hateley and Sally Ann Triplett.  He then featured as the Barrister Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz, alongside Simon Greiff and Annalene Beechey, followed by playing Michael Darling in Peter Pan the Musical.

While still in his youth, Aaron sang before two thousand people in Let’s Sing, supported by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He shared the stage with John Savident, Ronnie Corbett and Claire Moore.

His West End debut saw him sing in the ensemble of Christmas in New York, backing Julie Atherton, Anna-Jane Casey, Paul Spicer and Oliver Tompsett.  Aaron has also enjoyed featuring in touring productions, playing Numberjack 4 in CBeebie’s Numberjacks Live On Stage! and the Timekeeper in Jamie and Anna Live! He has since played principal roles, ranging from Genie to villain, in Aladdin and Jack and the Beanstalk, for one of the UK’s leading pantomime producers, Imagine Theatre.

Fringe theatre is also one of Aaron’s passions. He played Fred Waring in Goodnight Mrs. Calabash: a musical exploring the life of Jimmy Durante, Directed by Racky Plews. Other highlights include performing in Mark Ravenhill’s, Ten Plagues (Royal Court Theatre, London), playing Peter Simmonds in Bare (Loughborough Town Hall) and appearing as Man 2 in Edges (The Landor Theatre, London).

Aaron is no stranger to vocal recording either, having recorded the part of Parson Tringham on the original soundtrack of Tess The Musical. He also features in the title theme tune of Iain Lauchlan’s kid’s TV programme, Cheeky Chimps TV, while in the domain of radio plays, he voiced the character of Phillip Birch in Shivering Sands.

Aside from his performance career, Aaron is a dab hand at costume design and construction. He is proud to have served Imagine Theatre as Assistant to the Head of Wardrobe. He now works with the department as a freelancer and continues to support them.

Creativity is hugely important to Aaron. He has been the choreographer for a number of shows for many different companies, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Bent, Kiss Me Kate, Legally Blonde, Yank!, A Christmas Carol and Guys and Dolls.

Aaron is proud to be at the helm of Through The Roof Theatre. It has been a long standing dream to produce shows in his own unique style. He hopes that everyone who collaborates with the company finds it an inspirational and beneficial experience.

Faye Lindsey - Associate Director

Faye’s passion for performing arts began at the age of four. She trained at the Christine Anderson Theatre School, Rugby, and Allesley School of Dance, Coventry. During this time, she landed her first directing role at sixteen, whilst completing her Drama and Dance GCSEs, and twice took part in ADVENT (Arts, Drama, Vocational & Educational Tours) in Tossa De Mar, Spain. Her training continued at Stratford-Upon-Avon College where she attained Triple Distinction in Performing Arts (Performance).

From a young age, Faye has had the opportunity to perform on many stages, such as The London Palladium; The Palace Theatre, Manchester; The Swan Theatre, RSC, and The Courtyard Theatre, RSC. She has participated in several variety shows and festivals, including choreographing a piece for Dance Festival 2004 at the Warwick Arts Centre which was performed by individuals with physical, mental and learning difficulties. Faye also attended training courses hosted by bbodance, formerly the British Ballet Organization (BBO), and the East 15 Acting School in Loughton.

Faye then studied for three years at the Arts University Bournemouth, graduating with a BA Hons Degree in Acting. Whilst there, she took on an in-house Deputy Stage Manager role and also performed at The Pavilion Theatre. This was followed by the role of Stage Manager at The Lighthouse Theatre, Poole.

After graduation, Faye secured two roles within one year, playing Blanche Ingram/Helen Burns/Diana Rivers in Jane Eyre (The Crescent Theatre, Birmingham) and Anne Franklin in A Tomb With A View (Rugby Theatre). In the same year, she was invited to appear in the radio recording of Shivering Sands by Susan Moore playing Jill, the secretary. The following Autumn, she embraced Rugby Theatre’s stage again as Liz Mason in Blood Money.

Faye was then invited to be Assistant Choreographer for Kiss Me Kate (Royal Spa Centre, Leamington) and went on to perform in the show itself. Her debut musical theatre role as Serena in Legally Blonde (Royal Spa Centre, Leamington) is her favourite performance to date. After time spent travelling, Faye returned to feature as Etcetera in CATS (Royal Spa Centre, Leamington), followed closely by the exciting role of Resident Choreographer for Yank! at the Talisman Theatre, Kenilworth.

Alongside her theatrical career, Faye’s skillset branches into education. She has worked with young people from age four to twenty-five. Her greatest achievement in this sector was working on behalf of The Prince’s Trust to assist young people in re-engaging with education, employment and training. Faye maintains that this was a truly inspirational experience.

Faye can’t wait to see what’s in store for Through The Roof Theatre and is thrilled to be a co-founder of this exciting new company.
