Our Vision
Hi! I’m Aaron Gibson, Company Director of Through The Roof Theatre, founded 12th January 2021. I’m a professional performer with over 20 years of experience in the performing arts industry. With the Covid 19 crisis causing stagnation across the theatrical world in 2020, I had a vision to create a dynamic new theatre company that could ignite the resurgence of our industry. My mission was to bring much needed entertainment to audiences and opportunities to performers.
Through The Roof Theatre is a Warwickshire-based company with the unique vision of blending the amateur and professional worlds. We want to enable performers of all levels of experience to mutually benefit from each other and create groundbreaking theatre. Our company is a vehicle for adults to showcase their talents, discover new creative opportunities and enhance their skillset through top-quality training.
We plan to produce small-scale musical theatre shows with a focus on new writers, lesser-known repertoire and putting creative twists on classic revivals. Our desire is to educate audiences by giving a platform to the many fantastically written and scored pieces that don’t get the chance to shine in the mainstream. We value the compositional gems that have been under-performed and haven’t yet received the credit they deserve. We’re also not afraid of confronting controversial and thought-provoking theatre that can expand minds and improve lives.
Through The Roof Theatre isn’t simply about production. We have all sorts of exciting training opportunities in the pipeline. We’ll be introducing a timetable of live classes in various theatrical disciplines, from dancing and singing, to character development and audition technique. For aspiring young adults preparing for professional training, we’re planning to offer personalised development programmes that act as a springboard to future success.
As part of our offerings, we also regularly interview industry professionals to learn of their performing highlights, explore the challenges they’ve overcome and gain insights into their journeys to career success.
The team and I share a passion for imaginative creation and are united in our drive to make this exciting new company a success. We always put 110% into every project and person. This is our commitment to you.
